Rye Foreshore
As one of the busiest foreshore precincts on the Peninsula during the summer holiday season, there has been a need for shade sails to cover the swings as well as the parent seating area.
Nepean Building Permits managing the planning process for this project, whilst Peninsula Shade Sails was responsible for developing optimum solution for this play area.
The project consisted of a 6-post shade sail installation comprising 2 shade sails (each at 100m2). All fittings used were of marine grade stainless steel. This project was a complex one since mass footings were required. This is because of given the low water level since the structures are so close to the shoreline.
This extra shade across key areas of the foreshore will encourage people to dwell longer in the playground and surrounding areas of the foreshore, which should lead to many hours of family fun in Rye.
